LIVE: A Glorious Decade Concert

The Glorious Philharmonic Choir’s much-anticipated “A Glorious Decade Concert” to celebrate its 10th anniversary is underway.

This exciting event promises an unforgettable experience, showcasing the choir’s talent and growth as they perform various selections that have thrilled audiences for the last 10 years.

The repertoire for this evening concert includes a selection of sacred and uplifting pieces. It begins with O Come, Let Us Sing unto the Lord, featuring the traditional Venite, Exultemus Domino. The service will also include John Barnard’s Christ Triumphant, Ever Reigning and Samuel Sebastian Wesley’s O Thou Who Camest. Herbert Howells’ All My Hope on God Is Founded will be performed alongside J.B. Dykes’ comforting hymn, I Hear the Voice of Jesus Say.

Psalm 121, I Will Lift My Eyes, set to music by H. Walford Davies, will bring a sense of reflection, followed by George Oldroyd’s majestic Ye Watchers and Ye Holy Ones. Ralph Vaughan Williams’ beautiful rendition of O Taste and See will also be part of the lineup. C. Hubert H. Parry’s classic All People That on Earth Do Dwell will add a traditional touch, and the selection concludes with the hymn God of Our Fathers. These pieces are sure to create a spiritually enriching atmosphere.
