The highly anticipated tour kicks off in Lomé, Togo, on April 25, before moving to Cotonou, Benin, on April 27, and concluding in Muson, Nigeria, on May 3. Here are the names to watch in 2025… Liam Bonthrone – tenor Aged 29, Scottish operatic tenor Liam Bonthrone has already shared a stage with many classical music greats including Marin Alsop, Sir Simon Rattle and the London Symphony Orchestra.As a concert soloist, he has performed in iconic works from Handel’s Messiah and Mozart’s Requiem. He has just released his debut solo album, Soirée Parisienne, and will soon perform roles at the Royal Opera House and Glyndebourne Festival. Daniil Bulayev​ – violin Born in Latvia, 21-year-old Daniil Bulayev is a rising star violinist and conductor, and artistic director of the Davinspiro Camerata Chamber Orchestra. He has performed as a soloist with several international orchestras and collaborated with some of today’s greatest musicians including violinist Maxim Vengerov. In 2021, he won the Windsor Festival International String Competition. Sasha Canter – trumpet Since winning the Brass Category Final of the 2022 BBC Young Musician competition, British trumpeter Sasha Canter has been a semi-finalist in both the Aeolus International Competition for Wind Instruments in Düsseldorf and the Charlier International Trumpet Competition in Belgium.In demand internationally as a recitalist and concerto soloist, Sasha also enjoys composing, arranging and performing with his trumpet ensemble . Junyan Chen – piano Chinese pianist Junyan Chen won Second Prize at the Leeds International Piano Competition 2024 with a thrilling performance of Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No.4 alongside the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic. She also picked up the chamber music prize and Alexandra Dariescu award for a work by a woman composer.Junyan holds a fellowship with the Royal Academy of Music, and is now completing an Advanced Diploma under Professor Joanna MacGregor CBE. She released her debut solo album, It’s Time, in 2022. Blending rich choral and classical music traditions with contemporary gospel expressions, The Varrick Experience stood out as a unique and spiritually enriching encounter. Attendees were not only entertained but also deeply inspired, leaving with renewed hearts of worship. The festival of Praise and Worship 6, also known as The BIG SIX Concept, brought together a stellar lineup of anointed gospel artistes to celebrate the power of corporate praise and worship. Dubbed #VarrickExperience, the event was a special tribute to the incredible musical journey of James Varrick Armaah, Founder and Executive Director of Harmonious Chorale. As he marked his 40th birthday, the festival honored his immense contributions to gospel music by featuring a repertoire of exclusively composed or arranged songs from his catalog. The audience was treated to uplifting renditions of timeless compositions such as Oye, Nkwagye Kuruwa, Adom Noa, Nea Wo De Me Abedru Ni, Come Let Us Sing, My Help Comes from the Lord, and many more. Last year’s edition featured remarkable performances from the Winneba Youth Choir of Ghana, Efe Grace, Akoo Show Choir, Kofi Owusu Peprah, Team Eternity Ghana, Lordina The Soprano, and Rev. National Prayer and Thanksgiving Service for Mahama happening today at UPSA

President John Dramani Mahama and Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang will this afternoon join worshippers at a National Prayer and Thanksgiving Service, part of activities for the Presidential Inauguration Ceremony. The Service will begin at 3.00 pm in the auditorium of the UPSA at Madina in Accra and is open to the public, according to Jubilee House. Several dignitaries including the Speaker of Parliament, Members of Parliament, Executives of the National Democratic Congress are expected to grace the event. Music performance will be executed by Harmonious Chorale and others. President Mahama who was sworn in on January 7, amassed over 56 per cent of the total votes cast to win the 2024 presidential elections.
