Daniel Ayittah joins Recording Academy’s 2025 New Member Class as first Ghanaian gospel engineer

Daniel Ayittah, the visionary behind Outluk Records, has earned a place in the Recording Academy’s 2025 New Member Class—making history as the first Ghanaian gospel audio engineer to receive the honour.

This prestigious recognition places him among nearly 3,600 music professionals selected globally this year, reflecting both his personal achievement and a proud moment for Ghana’s gospel and audio engineering community.

Mr Ayittah took to the Instagram platform to share the good news. He expressed immense gratitude to several personalities who have aided in shaping him to become the audio engineer he currently is.

“I’m honored and humbled to officially join the @RecordingAcademy’s 2025 New Member Class—an inspiring global community of creators and professionals who are shaping the future of music.

This milestone is more than just a personal achievement—it’s a testament to every late night in the studio, every mix revision, and all the support I’ve received along the way. I’m grateful to God for His grace!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who’s believed in me: my mentors John “Yosh” Jaszcz, Randy Poole, Jon Blass, Adam David Smith, AyRon Lewis, Joey Fernandez and all the incredible engineers and producers who’ve shared their wisdom and encouragement. You’ve all shaped me into the mix engineer I am today.

I also want to thank those who have shepherded me spiritually through my journey.

God bless you!

To my family, friends, and clients—your trust and encouragement fuel my passion. I can’t wait to pay it forward by collaborating, learning, and contributing to this vibrant community of music professionals.”

According to Daniel, this platform will enable him to put many good works from Ghana and Africa in the limelight.

“As a member, I now have a voice in the GRAMMY Awards process and a platform to advocate for our industry, support my peers, mentor the next generation of engineers, and grow in my own journey.

What makes the Academy strong is its diversity—of genres, experiences, and voices. I’m excited to contribute my perspective and help champion musical excellence around the world.”

The Recording Academy, best known for hosting the GRAMMY Awards, continues to expand and diversify its membership, as part of its ongoing efforts to create a more inclusive and representative global music industry.

Over the last ten years, Daniel Ayittah has steadily risen to become a leading force in Africa’s gospel music production scene. Known for his rare ability to fuse technical expertise with deep musical sensitivity, he has earned the respect of peers and artists alike.

What began as a modest recording setup during his university days has grown into Outluk Records—a thriving production studio based in Accra. Through this platform, Ayittah has collaborated with some of the most celebrated names in gospel music, including Joe Mettle, Sinach, Dunsin Oyekan, Victoria Orenze, Moses Bliss, KaeStrings, CalledOut Music, Prospa Ochimana, Preye Odede, and Daniel Ojo.

His professional growth has also been shaped by international exposure. A pivotal period of training in Nashville, Tennessee, saw him learning under industry icons like John “Yosh” Jaszcz, Randy Poole, Jon Blass, Adam David Smith, and AyRon Lewis. These experiences not only sharpened his engineering craft but also elevated his influence within both African and global gospel music spheres.
